We woke up to a carbon copy of yesterday. Sunshine & NO wind. Yes!
All in all a very easy day. We did have a bit of drama stretching the gas to 410 kms to reach Revelstoke. We violated the rule of starting each day with a full tank. Doug figured we could make it...besides I had a litre of gas & Peter had an empty gerry can so he could go for gas. We both have CAA as well. In reality we made it actually had over 3 litres still in the tank, but after all the windy days we really didn't know what kind of mileage we would get "normally".
I'm finally comfortable seeing myself in the mirror or ahead on the days that Peter leads. You see, this is the first time I have traveled with another V-Strom. It's kind of funny seeing your bike ahead or behind you all day long but it's cool.
In Kamloops we had lunch @ Tim's then headed to Canadian Tire to get oil. Peter had brought a 4 litre jug to catch the oil so we parked under a tree & did the two bikes. It may be my imagination, but I swear the bikes sounded happy afterward. Especially mine!
Next is laundry. We are going to smell so sweet!
Glad to see that you guys finally hit some nice weather. Enjoy it! Before long, you'll be freezing your butts off in Alaska/Arctic Circle. But, as Peter would say..."you'll be having fun!". :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is some big truck! Can't believe the size of the tires!!!
P.S. Doug, you certainly have a way with words. You are a great story teller! Do you have a writer/journalistic background?
